Minutes of the August 8, 2013 Commission Meeting: Motion by Judy Wanner, second by Kathleen McKee   to approve the minutes as presented. Motion approved.

Meeting Posting: Chris Schultz verified the agenda had been sent to the three towns for posting.

Unfinished Business:

AEMT Level Update: Chris Schultz reported that AEMT level service started on September 15th with approximately 60% coverage at the Advanced Level.

FEMA Grant: Nothing new to report. The grant is still open.

New Business:

Proposed 2014 Annual Budget: Chris Schultz presented a budget proposal for 2014 totaling $260,457.46. This is a 1.6% increase over last year. Most of the increase was from additional costs in salaries and medical supplies. A motion was made by Jerry Hull, seconded by Judy Wanner to refer the proposed 2014 annual budget to the three town boards for approval. Motion approved unanimously.

EMT Course Cost: Chris Schultz reported that the cost of the EMT continues to increase. Additional hours of class time result in rising tuition. Tuition is now $1,037.11 for the Basic EMT class. This, along with other costs (books, uniforms, etc), increases the cost to over $1,500.00 per student. MAS presently has five students in the class. The training budget is not sufficient to cover these additional costs. A motion was made by Kathleen McKee, seconded by Judy Wanner to have the three towns share equally the $5,185.55 tuition cost of the five students for a charge of $1,728.56 to each town. Motion approved unanimously. Chris will notify the towns of this charge.

Volunteers: Chris Schultz reported on the problems EMS services are having recruiting new volunteers. Several Wisconsin EMS Services have been forced to cease operations due to lack of volunteers. This is an ongoing concern for all EMS providers.

Adjournment: Motion by Judy Wanner, seconded by Jerry Hull to adjourn. Motion approved.

Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
