BOARD MEETING JUNE 10, 2014

MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Hull at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Office. Roll call was taken with Hull, Uecke, Lauterborn and Kauzlaric present, as well as 11 in attendance. The agenda was posted on June 7, 2014. Motion to approve the Agenda by Lauterborn. Seconded by Hull. Motion carried. The Pledge of Allegiance is said.

Treasurer’s Report was given by Kauzlaric with bank statements available for review. Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by Hull. Seconded by Lauterborn. Motion carried.

Minutes of the Town Board meeting held May 10, 2014 were available for review. Motion to accept minutes by Uecke. Seconded by Lauterborn. Motion carried.

Budget Amendments – none at this time.

Disbursements were available for all to review; checks #21634 to and including #21695 for disbursement of $53,859.98, which includes auto withdrawal of payroll taxes, plus late check #21697 to Brannik Computers in the amount of $360.00 for a total disbursement of $54,219.98 (check #21696 voided). Motion to approve by Lauterborn. Seconded by Uecke. Motion carried.

Ambulance Report – Chairman Hull discussed items from Commissioner’s meeting held May 15th – FEMA grant is still in the works; looking for a plow truck for the winter (Chairman Hull shared with the Commission that the Town of Mountain may be purchasing a new pickup this fall and might be able to help them out with the use of our old truck); developing policies for Towns to review (lights & sirens; charging for stand by at events); staffing task force meeting to discuss challenges for volunteer staffing. No motions are entertained.

Fire Department Report – report given by Chief Harkema with several calls including large wildfire which involved several fire departments, Forestry, DNR which received State & Federal notice on response time and suppression; couple fires in Town (fireworks related and kids camping). No motions are entertained.

Humane Officer Report is given by Humane Officer Bubb with 6 calls for the month of May; he also informed Town Board that he will need surgery on left hand in near future; he will notify us when he has more details. No motions are entertained.

Cemetery Report – nothing to report at this time. No motions are entertained.

Planning Commission Report – No Meeting

6 Town Board Meeting Discussions – Chairman Hull stated that at the last meeting the Towns discussed having a Special Electors meeting to discuss approval of funds necessary for purchase of a building to move the Northern Satellite office; meeting to be held Tuesday, June 24th at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office. No motions are entertained.

Communication File is reviewed and list is signed.

Road Bids – Chairman Hull discussed limited funds this year for road work this year after the expense of the TRIP project so they would only be awarding the bids for stone/sand and seal coat using chips; we will also be publishing a bid notice for crack filling, which was overlooked on our first publication.

–          Stone & Sand bid award – only one bid received. Motion to approve Mountain Stone Works bid by Lauterborn. Seconded by Uecke. Motion carried.

–          Seal Coat using chips bid award – discussion regarding bids received and award of single chip seal. Motion to use Pitlik & Wick bid of $16,444 per 20’ mile by Hull. Seconded by Lauterborn. Motion carried.

Special Gathering License – Mountain Fire Dept. Aux Inc. (July 5th) – Application available for review. Motion to accept by Hull. Seconded by Lauterborn. Motion carried.

Outdoor Entertainment Permit – Mountain Fire Dept. Aux Inc. (July 5th) – Application available for review. Motion to accept by Lauterborn. Seconded by Uecke. Motion carried.

Application for Permit to Discharge Fireworks – Mountain Fire Dept. Aux Inc. (July 5th) – Application available for review. Motion to accept by Lauterborn. Seconded by Uecke. Motion carried.

Outdoor Entertainment Permit – Kitty’s Grill & Bar (Annual) – Application available for review. Motion to accept by Lauterborn. Seconded by Hull. Motion carried.

2014-2015 Cigarette License Applications (by list) – Applications available for review. Motion to accept all of them by Hull. Seconded by Uecke. Motion carried.

2014-2015 Operator’s License Applications (by list) – Applications available for review. Motion that we accept these Operator’s License applications by list by Uecke. Seconded by Lauterborn. Motion carried.

Fire Department Applicant – Wilson – application available for review. Motion to accept by Hull. Seconded by Lauterborn. Motion carried.

Hearing of the People brought about concerns relating to pot holes that need filling towards the dead end of Kingston Road; fill needed for hole by boat landing on Anderson Lake where you put boats in; Town’s consideration to discontinue road not developed between Arvid Lane and West Ziereis Ln; what was the decision on the sweeper; was the truck fixed that repair bill payment was being held; ATV sign costs vs. donations; who handles enforcement of speeding on ATV’s.
