PLANNING COMMISSION DECEMBER 1, 2015
MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Herman at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Office. Roll call was taken with Maletzke, Schmidt, Hertzberg, Hull and Herman present as well as 21 in attendance. The agenda was posted on November 30, 2015. Motion to approve the Agenda by Maletzke. Seconded by Schmidt. Motion carried.
Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting November 3, 2015 were available for review. Motion to accept minutes by Herman. Seconded by Maletzke. Motion carried.
Kennel License Application – Braverman – Emails and letter received given to Planning Commission Members for their review; statement received from business owner unable to attend meeting was read aloud by Clerk Kauzlaric. Applicant and property owner available to discuss steps taken since last meeting for noise control-have established a bark log, purchased bark collars and other technology to try to control barking, feed during day hours and keeping dogs inside at night; also complied with hunters request and took dogs out of area for training during hunting season. Public comments included-barking/noise during all hours of day/night; couple at last month’s meeting with concerns but have not had an issue in the last month; disposal of waste; owner’s community involvement and education with sled team (have sled rides for kids at Schoolhouse Christmas party, etc.); comments about sport of dog mushing and guidelines from another kennel owner of sled dogs; individual that moved to area because of the work with this team of dogs; grandchildren that look forward to coming up north to work with dog owners and training on dog sledding; question to revisit in summer if noise issue; any restrictions or renewal of Kennel License. Motion to approve the Kennel License for Braverman by Herman. Seconded by Maletzke. Motion carried. (Hull Abstained)
