Annual Cemetery Committee Meeting
May 5, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 4:15 pm at the Mountain Town Office by Chairman Tony Uecke (Mountain). Paige Ronski (Doty) is present with Dick Booth (Riverview). Sexton John Vandenlangenberg also present. Mountain Deputy Clerk, Laura Anderson present to record minutes.
Motion to approve the agenda as posted by Booth, seconded by Ronski. Motion Carried.
Motion to approve the minutes from September 9th, 2013 by Uecke, seconded by Booth. Motion Carried. Pledge of Allegiance is said.
Vandenlangenberg gave the Sexton’s report. The new push mower is working great. The entrance sign was refinished and looks good. There were trees removed at the end of the year and it’s looking like more dead trees will need to be removed at the end of this year again. There were 17 burials and 5 lots sold last year. There are approximately 180 lots left to sell.
Old Business: Still looking for cemetery land options. Possible land at the old Mountain School and a possible vacant lot on Emily Road. The sheds at the cemetery still need to be redone and possibly moved to a new area. Motion by Ronski, seconded by Uecke to have the Sexton start getting proposals from contractors about how much work would need to be done and possible costs. Motion carried.
New Business: Vandenlangenberg stated the cemetery would need about 4-5yrds of dirt for the year. Motion by Booth, seconded by Uecke to allow the Sexton to order 4-5yrds of dirt for the year. Motion carried. Nominations for new committee chairman resulted in Dick Booth as the 2014 chairman of the board.
